201811 Ampthill U18 Girls Vs Crusaders

Match Report

Ampthill U18 Girls travelled to Norwich for the first round of the National Cup (Area 4, League 2). This is one of the furthest distances that most of the girls have had to travel but the Crusaders proved very welcoming hosts and the weather obliged as well.

Ampthill started the match playing uphill and into the sun. Both sides worked extremely hard and much of the action initially was between both sides 22 yard lines with Crusaders in a dominant position at the half time mark.

With the change of ends Ampthill finally seemed to find their niche and proceeded to use their strength and cover to their advantage. A multitude of tackles combined with excellent passing and phased play meant they were soon in control of the scoreboard as well as the match.

The game concluded with Ampthill winning the match 25-19 with the Crusaders fighting to the bitter end. All in all one of the best matches so far this season, both teams worked hard and should be proud of their performances.
