Ampthill vs London Scottish

  • Ampthill & District Community Rugby Club United Kingdom (map)

After an unexpected rest weekend due to Storm Ciara and events off the pitch this week, the boys are raring to get out on the field and play some rugby.

Only two changes to the side that should have faced Carnegie last Sunday with Jarryd Sage and Sam Hudson returning to the starting XV after minor injuries. Tomi Lewis continues at full-back after an excellent debut at Falcons and Saints Tommy Matthews starting at 12.

New signing Michael van Vuuren will make his debut from the bench – we’re sure the Mob crowd will give him a warm welcome! It’s London Scottish first competitive visit to Dillingham Park for what will be a great example of Championship Rugby – let’s hope Storm Dennis doesn’t spoil the day!

It was obviously disappointing not to play last weekend, but it was entirely the right decision with the weather conditions.

We have largely picked the squad that was going to play against Yorkshire Carnegie, but with the return to fitness of Hudson and Sage they return to the starting XV. Saracens have kindly made Jon Kpoku available, so I’m pleased with the team we have selected for the weekend.

London Scottish is a well-established and consistent Championship side that has been on the wrong end of some really tight games recently. Make no mistake they will be hurting and looking to get the season back on track this weekend.
